Leather handbrake lever, walk-nappa — a genuine BMW part, number 34 41 2 227 557. The number stamped on the part is 34412227557; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2227557. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Parking brake. It supersedes the older numbers 1160581, 1163197, 1164009, 2267379 and 3 others, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 9 diagrams, among them Handbrake lever (34_0410) and Handbrake lever (34_0535). It weighs about 812 g (1.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
