This is a genuine BMW left pull rod, part number 51 71 7 044 679. The number stamped on the part is 51717044679; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7044679. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 7044677, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7239859.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 3.0 kg (6.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
