The number stamped on the part is 17137553919; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7553919. You will find it on our Cooling System shelf, under Expansion tank. It supersedes the older numbers 7524812 and 7800097, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan and touring (318tds, 325td and 325tds, 1991–1996), with the M41 or M51 engines. It also fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 75 diagrams, among them Radiator/Expansion Tank/Frame (17_0090) and Expansion tank, manual gearbox (17_0140). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
