Genuine BMW part 71 12 1 181 801: Lifting jack. The number stamped on the part is 71121181801; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1181801. You will find it on our Tools shelf, under Other Equipment Parts parts. It supersedes the older number 1180926, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1181419.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Tool kit/Lifting jack (71_0110) and Tool kit/Tool box (71_0117). It weighs about 1.8 kg (4.0 lb).
