Lock Ring — a genuine BMW part, number 12 52 1 732 696. The number stamped on the part is 12521732696; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1732696. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1718058, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 13 diagrams, among them Cable holder (12_0360) and Cable harness fixings (12_0370).
