23 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Mounting, clamping band, lower section — a genuine BMW part, number 51 47 8 136 257. The number stamped on the part is 51478136257; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8136257. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 8230748, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 touring and compact (318ti, 1995–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 8 diagrams, among them Trunk trim panel (51_1656) and Trunk trim panel (51_1657). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
