This is a genuine BMW O-ring, part number 11 43 7 529 257. The number stamped on the part is 11437529257; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7529257. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Oil filling, oil dipstick. It supersedes the older number 7509343, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2001–2004), with the N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Oil Pan/Oil Level Indicator (11_3174) and Oil Pan/Oil Level Indicator (11_3722). It also comes in BMW kit Gasket Set Engine Block Asbesto Free (7511529).
