O-ring — a genuine BMW part, number 11 53 1 703 848. The number stamped on the part is 11531703848; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1703848. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Thermostat and coolant lines.
It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M52 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Cooling System Water Hoses (11_1488) and Cooling System Water Hoses (11_1489). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It also comes in BMW kits Set Mounting Parts Short Engine (0007008) and Gasket Set Engine Block Asbesto Free (1740981).
