What's Included

Genuine BMW part 17 21 1 742 636: O-ring. The number stamped on the part is 17211742636; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1742636. You will find it on our Cooling System shelf, under Oil cooler. It supersedes the older numbers 1712354 and 2284052, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 76 diagrams, among them Transmission Oil Cooling (17_0088) and Transmission Oil Cooling/Cooling Coil (17_0098). It also comes in BMW kit Set of sealing and fastening parts (0152418).
