The number stamped on the part is 11251437177; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1437177. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Piston with rings and pin. It supersedes the older number 1437082, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 compact (316i 1.9, 1999), with the M43 engine. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (316i 1.9 and 318i, 1997–2001), with the M43 engine.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Crankshaft-Pistons (11_1336) and Crankshaft-Pistons (11_6044). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 426 g (0.9 lb).
