The number stamped on the part is 11531740437; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1740437. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Thermostat and coolant lines. It supersedes the older number 1722566, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Waterpump - Thermostat (11_1503) and Waterpump - Thermostat (11_1546). It weighs about 2 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Set Mounting Parts Short Engine (0007008) and Gasket set cylinder head asbestos free (1427825) and 9 more.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
