-- View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Protective strip, right — a genuine BMW part, number 51 12 7 311 026. The number stamped on the part is 51127311026; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7311026. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Door, rear. It supersedes the older number 7276546, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Body-Side Frame (41_1990) and Side Panel/Tail Trim (41_1996). It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
