Genuine BMW part 37 12 6 799 395: Rear left spring strut. The number stamped on the part is 37126799395; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6799395. It supersedes the older number 6795855, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Spring strut, rear / VDC / ECU (33_1458) diagram. It weighs about 6.6 kg (14 lb).
