Remote control — a genuine BMW part, number 82 92 9 402 531. The number stamped on the part is 82929402531; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9402531. You will find it on our Merchandise & Accessories shelf, under Other Universal Accessories parts. BMW has since replaced it with 9404882.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions.
