Retrofit kit, hand protection, black — a genuine BMW part, number 71 60 2 315 870. The number stamped on the part is 71602315870; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2315870. You will find it on our Tools shelf, under Other Equipment Parts parts. It supersedes the older number 2315710, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Handlebar (32_0777) diagram. It weighs about 242 g (0.5 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
