01 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW ribbed v-belt, part number 11 28 1 437 873. The number stamped on the part is 11281437873; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1437873. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Other Engine parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1470024, 1703944 and 1738988, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1437449.
It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 10 diagrams, among them Belt Drive Climate Compressor (11_1345) and Belt Drive Climate Compressor (11_4874). It weighs about 97 g (0.2 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
