Right tension strut with rubber mounting — a genuine BMW part, number 31 12 6 774 830. The number stamped on the part is 31126774830; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6774830. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Front Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 4046440, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 2348048.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Frnt axle support, wishbone/tension strut (31_0655) and Frnt axle support, wishbone/tension strut (31_0714). It weighs about 1.9 kg (4.2 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Repair kit, trailing link, right (2348048).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
