Rivet — a genuine BMW part, number 51 11 1 942 789. The number stamped on the part is 51111942789; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1942789. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 8400709, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 compact (316ti, 318td, 318ti, 320td and 325ti, 2001–2004), with the M47N, M54, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on 10 diagrams, among them Cover door sill / wheel arch (51_0655) and Cover door sill / wheel arch (51_0669). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted. It also comes in BMW kits Set, mounting parts, bumper, front (2293995) and Set, mounting parts, bumper, front (2293996).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
