Genuine BMW part 13 71 1 289 624: Rubber buffer. The number stamped on the part is 13711289624; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1289624. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Intake silencer. It supersedes the older number 1274150, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7539903.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 38 diagrams, among them Suction Silencer/Filter Cartridge (13_1706) and Suction Silencer/Filter Cartridge (13_1708). It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).
