What's Included

Rubber buffer — a genuine BMW part, number 51 47 8 144 588. The number stamped on the part is 51478144588; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8144588. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 0141030, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1994–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 and other engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 touring (323i and 325i, 2000–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 37 diagrams, among them Trunk trim panel (51_2109) and Trim panel, trunk floor (51_3952). It also comes in BMW kit Retrofit kit, CD-changer (2151907).
