05 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Safety belt adjuster — a genuine BMW part, number 72 11 1 977 826. The number stamped on the part is 72111977826; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1977826. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Parts and accessories, body parts. It supersedes the older number 1977825, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Safety Belt Adjuster (72_0201) and Safety Belt Adjuster (72_0303). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 320 g (0.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
