Screw, self tapping — a genuine BMW part, number 07 11 9 906 163. The number stamped on the part is 07119906163; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9906163. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 11. It supersedes the older number 9904179, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 coupe and compact (323i, 325i, 328i, 330i and M3, 2000–2006), with the M52, M54, M56 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Rear door, hinge/door brake (41_2061) and Handle (51_3737). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It also comes in BMW kit Installation Kit Alarm System (0444089).
