The number stamped on the part is 23127527439; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7527439. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Bearing in housing, sealing rings. It supersedes the older numbers 1200236 and 7531373, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 49 diagrams, among them S5D...G inner gear shifting parts (23_0128) and S5D...G inner gear shifting parts (23_0227). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
