Genuine BMW part 33 41 1 124 945: Securing plate. The number stamped on the part is 33411124945; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1124945. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Rear Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 1105655, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 compact (318ti, 1995–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 21 diagrams, among them Final drive(frnt axle), output shaft,4whl (31_0195) and Side Shaft/Wheel Bearings (33_0161). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Wheel bearing repair kit (1107512).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
