This is a genuine BMW selector rod, part number 25 16 1 215 984. The number stamped on the part is 25161215984; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1215984. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearshift. It supersedes the older number 1215257, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Gear shift parts, automatic gearbox (25_0121) and Gear shift parts, automatic gearbox (25_0128). It weighs about 159 g (0.4 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
