Set tension strut — a genuine BMW part, number 31 12 0 409 267. The number stamped on the part is 31120409267; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 0409267. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Front Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 0148324, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Frnt axle support, wishbone/tension strut (31_0643) diagram.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
