Shaped part, side panel/B-pillar — a genuine BMW part, number 41 21 8 252 845. The number stamped on the part is 41218252845; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8252845. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Bodywork parts. It supersedes the older number 8252846, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 compact (316ti, 318td, 318ti, 320td and 325ti, 2001–2004), with the M47N, M54, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on the Cavity shielding, side frame (41_1363) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 160 g (0.4 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
