This is a genuine BMW shift sleeve, part number 23 23 1 204 524. The number stamped on the part is 23231204524; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1204524. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 1204522, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Getrag 262 Gear Wheel Set, Single Parts (23_0805) diagram. It weighs about 355 g (0.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
