This is a genuine BMW shock absorber front, part number 51 11 8 127 553. The number stamped on the part is 51118127553; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8127553. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 1949501, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Trim panel, bumper, front (51_0590) and Trim panel, bumper, front (51_0591). It weighs about 2.2 kg (4.9 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
