Sliding piece — a genuine BMW part, number 72 11 1 904 962. The number stamped on the part is 72111904962; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1904962. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Parts and accessories, body parts. It supersedes the older number 1904850, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Safety Belt Adjuster (72_0027) and Front Safety Belt Mounting Parts (72_0058). It weighs about 7 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
