02 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Snap ring — a genuine BMW part, number 11 25 7 831 889. The number stamped on the part is 11257831889; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7831889. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Piston with rings and pin. It supersedes the older number 7510330, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 coupe and convertible (M3, 2001–2006), with the S54 engine.
BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Crankshaft-Pistons (11_3002) and Crankshaft-Pistons (11_3265). BMW's catalog calls for 12 of these at each place it is fitted.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
