02 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW sound insulation, part number 25 16 1 421 130. The number stamped on the part is 25161421130; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1421130. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearshift. It supersedes the older number 1219229, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them Gear shift parts, automatic gearbox (25_0016) and Shift Interlock Automatic Transm (25_0020). It weighs about 231 g (0.5 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
