Genuine BMW part 12 31 1 747 247: Supporting plate. The number stamped on the part is 12311747247; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1747247. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Alternator with motor and mounting. It supersedes the older number 1738097, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (320i and 325i, 1992–1995), with the M50 engine.

BMW draws it on 15 diagrams, among them Alternator Parts 140a (12_0251) and Alternator Parts 140a (12_0253). It weighs about 45 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
