This is a genuine BMW tension strap, part number 32 13 1 094 100. The number stamped on the part is 32131094100; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1094100. You will find it on our Steering shelf, under steering system connectors. It supersedes the older number 1126568, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 26 diagrams, among them Steering Linkage/Tie Rods (32_0632) and Steering Linkage/Tie Rods (32_2423). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).
