This is a genuine BMW timing chain, part number 11 31 1 432 176. The number stamped on the part is 11311432176; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1432176. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under CAMSHAFT. It supersedes the older number 1730189, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
