-- View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW tool box, part number 52 53 1 232 640. The number stamped on the part is 52531232640; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1232640. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Seat bench. It supersedes the older numbers 1232641, 1232642 and 1234805, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Dual Seat-Tool Box (52_0991) and Tool box (52_0997). It weighs about 300 g (0.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
