The number stamped on the part is 34511458492; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1458492. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Mechanical-hydraulic components. It supersedes the older number 0390040, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9165719.
It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1994–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 and other engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them Rear wheel brake, ABS (34_0634) and Front wheel brake, ABS (34_0637). BMW's catalog calls for six of these at each place it is fitted.
