Genuine BMW part 23 11 7 525 047: Transmission rear housing. The number stamped on the part is 23117525047; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7525047. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Housing with cover. It supersedes the older number 7503949, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (328i and 330i, 1999–2006), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them S5D...Z housing + mounting parts (23_0125) and S5D...Z housing + mounting parts (23_1134). It weighs about 3.0 kg (6.5 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
