This is a genuine BMW unlocking unit, part number 52 20 8 221 531. The number stamped on the part is 52208221531; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8221531. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Seatbelts. It supersedes the older number 8221532, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 touring (323i and 325i, 2000–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
