Upper belt w/o force limiter, frnt lft — a genuine BMW part, number 72 11 8 240 231. The number stamped on the part is 72118240231; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8240231. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Parts and accessories, body parts. It supersedes the older number 0422381, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 sedan and touring (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Safety Belt Front Left (72_0300) diagram. It weighs about 780 g (1.7 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
