Genuine BMW part 12 43 8 609 697: Wiring harness, engine DC. The number stamped on the part is 12438609697; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8609697. It supersedes the older number 7647014, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Engine wiring harness (12_1821) and Engine wiring harness (12_1843). It weighs about 790 g (1.7 lb).
