08 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW ASA-Bolt, part number 07 12 9 905 522. The number stamped on the part is 07129905522; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9905522. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 12. It supersedes the older number 9903485, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 coupe and convertible (M3, 2001–2006), with the S54 engine.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Timing Case (11_2989) and Timing Case (11_6248). BMW's catalog calls for five of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
