This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME, part number 12 14 1 430 844. The number stamped on the part is 12141430844; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1430844. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1430786, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1430845.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (320i, 323i and 328i, 1999–2005), with the M52 engine.

BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Basic control unit DME (12_0885) and Basic control unit DME (12_0896). It weighs about 350 g (0.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
