Genuine BMW part 12 14 1 433 240: Basic control unit DME. The number stamped on the part is 12141433240; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1433240. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1247817 and 1743088, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1429768.

It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (318i, 1992–1999), with the M42 engine.

BMW draws it on the Uncoded DME control unit (12_1979) diagram. It weighs about 555 g (1.2 lb).
