Genuine BMW part 12 14 1 438 877: Basic control unit DME. The number stamped on the part is 12141438877; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1438877. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1429925, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1438878.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M44 engine.

BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Basic control unit DME (12_1994) and Basic control unit DME (12_1996). It weighs about 530 g (1.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
