Basic control unit DME — a genuine BMW part, number 12 14 1 743 250. The number stamped on the part is 12141743250; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1743250. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1247900, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1743257.

It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (318i, 1992–1999), with the M42 engine.

BMW draws it on the Uncoded DME control unit (12_1979) diagram. It weighs about 554 g (1.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
