This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME, part number 12 14 1 743 252. The number stamped on the part is 12141743252; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1743252. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1247878, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1743259.

It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 1994–1999), with the M42 engine.

BMW draws it on the Uncoded DME control unit (12_1979) diagram. It weighs about 561 g (1.2 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
