This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME, part number 12 14 1 748 037. The number stamped on the part is 12141748037; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1748037. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1730784, 1735614 and 1738931, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1748401.

It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (320i and 325i, 1992–1995), with the M50 engine.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Basic control unit DME (12_1994) and Basic control unit DME (12_1996). It weighs about 680 g (1.5 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
