The number stamped on the part is 63216934228; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6934228. You will find it on our Lighting shelf, under Rear lights. It supersedes the older number 0018229, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7160907.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan and coupe (316i, 1999–2003), with the M43, N40 or N42 engines.
