This is a genuine BMW navigation computer (exchange unit), part number 65 90 6 983 311. The number stamped on the part is 65906983311; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6983311. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH-Navigation computer”. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Navigation systems. It supersedes the older numbers 0412427 and 6972752, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9115033.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Navigation computer / video module (65_0495) and Navigation system (65_0803). It weighs about 1.7 kg (3.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
